Awwww! What a lovely man!
I love seeing people suddenly *get* why we spend time around horses. I guess that’s why I’m enjoying teaching Alice how to ride so much. She finally got the hang of rising trot yesterday and I almost cried. So proud of her!
She’s not quite there in understanding exactly how special horses are, but I reckon she’ll get it one day. Plus, she’s going to be a good rider. She has short legs which are hilarious (sorry Alice!) and makes it slightlyyyyy difficult for her with Alfie, but she literally seems to have no fear (I think I get more scared watching her than she does riding) and has a very nice natural seat. She’s very determined to get things right and she works hard on fixing what I tell her needs fixing.
It would be soooo amazing if she could do a nice walk and trot test by the end of the summer. This is our aim. I’m thinking we could both enter a Dressage Anywhere training class (I’m definitely going to do a couple, thanks to Yard Alex for pointing me in their direction, what a genius idea!) and even just some feedback will give her something new to work on.

I FEEL LIKE YOU SHOULDN’T BE TEACHING ME THIS.
We need this if we are to becoming hunters
Can someone please tell me who this is? :o
I’m pretty sure it’s Albert Voorn - if not, it’s someone from the Netherlands (they wear orange jackets in Nations Cup), it’s at La Baule, not sure which year though. The horse looks like Tobalio - Same sock on the hind leg and I think I can see some sort of a star there.
Reblogging again because his leg doesn’t even moveThe longer I watch this the more unreal it looks
the way the horse’s legs snap up omg
